The ClimateThrive Difference

MISSION

ClimateThrive’s mission is to help communities pursue comprehensive, integrated climate resilience initiatives that benefit people and nature.

APPROACH

ClimateThrive Community Strategies empowers its clients to co-create regenerative communities that thrive amidst our changing climate.

We do this by building the collaborative capacity of local governments and community members through a facilitation process that honors all perspectives, uplifting those voices that have historically been left out.

Taking a holistic, integrated systems approach to planning and project development, we embark on an iterative process to define desired outcomes based on shared values. The results are effective, comprehensive multi-benefit climate resilience plans, projects, and policies with broad community support.

VISION

ClimateThrive Community Strategies envisions a future in which:

  • All members of society are equally empowered to engage in co-creating their community, based on shared values;

  • Our built environment is interwoven with our natural systems, regenerating one another in symbiotic relationship; and

  • Climate change is less of a threat because we have adapted to a cycle of shifting conditions with new opportunities for innovation that protect all community-members from harm.

WHAT SETS US APART

  • We encourage behavior-change for climate resilience rooted in a sense of place, connection, and relationship with the natural world, rather than commodifying actions and resources.

  • We conduct authentic community empowerment and multi-directional engagement at every phase, rather than box-checking tokenized engagement.

  • We pursue values-centered visioning, rather than predetermined objectives, as the starting-point for community planning.

  • We determine a process for achieving desired outcomes as reinforcing feedback loops, rather than a linear or hierarchical process.

  • We reach beyond minimum requirements, leaning on interconnections and leveraging opportunities, to achieve something in which the community is truly proud and invested.
